The story depicts family values which emphasize love, respect and the sense of belonging. Every family has their identified family values that are passed on to children, grandchildren and to the next generation. Family gathering to celebrate birthdays, holidays and spending time together as a family, creates that sense of belonging. Family time, such as family dinner, sharing stories, and play time give children this foundation. In the story, the three children, Sye, Tomas, and Venida wanted to show love and appreciation by honoring their grandparents their own way. Honoring grandparents and treating them with care, love, and respect are the basis of family values instill in the childrens family life. Sye, Tomas and Venida started their own family tradition by celebrating Grandparents Day with the family every Thanksgiving Day. Why not create your family tradition?
