One of the things we women forget is that by nature we are nurturing people, men are not. Women are born with this bred into us, the mother instinct. Whether we become mothers or not, it is still there, and we have the need to nurture, to fix, to comfort, and men are well aware of this, and know when to move in and take over. Once a woman is in a controlling relationship it is very easy to fall back into one and very hard to get out, not because we cant, but because we think we can change these controlling men. Men have a way of knowing which of us can be controlled. The only way we can break that cycle of controlling relationships is to realize we cannot change them, we can only change us.
