Annotation

Shortly before his death, the late Mr Willoughby Smith gave us an interesting narrative of his extensive experiences, under title The Rise and Extension of Submarine Telegraphy (london: I. S. Virtue and but this is more in the nature of an autobiography of that distinguished pioneer. Again, within the same month of the same year the late Mr Robert Sabine and Mr Edward Bright, brought out works on The Electric Telegraph, treating the subject in its more general sense - the work of the latter author being a revision of one of Dr Lardner's now classic volumes entitled The Museum of Science and Art. Both works are published from the same office as this book.
