The telling Of the following story has been prompted by the discovery Of a picture which the author, from evidence collected by him and set out in these pages, submits to be a genuine portrait of Shakespeare painted during his lifetime. The portrait has painted upon it an age 24 and a date the age corresponding with that of Shakespeare in the same year. An analytical comparison is made between this and other recognised portraits Of Shakespeare.
