The babe who is thus brought on the scene grows into man's estate, becomes tall as a cedar (though a mere bramble in heart), and is in due course introduced to king Sennacherib as the successor-designate of the now aged Abikar. The precepts of his uncle have scarcely penetrated the outworks of his mind, and he seems to have grown up without any taste for the proverbial philosophy which Abikar had so liberally showered upon him.
