Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. I have tried to make the treatment sufficiently elementary to meet the demands that will necessarily be made on a book Of this kind. This is especially the case with the first few chapters, which must be regarded as very elementary and are mainly intended for those who are interested in the applications of thermionic tubes but are not sufficiently acquainted with the properties and behavior of electrons to understand the Operation of these tubes.
