Whilst the greatest effort has been made to ensure the quality of this text, due to the historical nature of this content, in some rare cases there may be minor issues with legibility. The reader will find the understanding of the argument easier if he keeps in mind the general outline of the thought. In the first Chapter, I try simply to point out the real and present importance of the problem which we are considering; in the second chapter, I try to Show the inconclusive nature of the arguments commonly urged against a future life; and in the third Chapter, I try to pre sent the positive reasons for a modern man's assurance that death does not end all.
